EMMA

ORTHODONTIC THERAPIST

Emma completed her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy at Curtin University in 2014. Emma worked for oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr Brent Allan from 2014-2020, where she gained a particular interest in surgical orthodontics and orthognathic surgery.

Emma grew up in a small country town and has always loved the country lifestyle, so in 2020 Emma made the move to Albany to work with the amazing team at Albany Orthodontics conveniently including her older sister and mentor Kelsie, Dr Stewart’s other hygienist.

In her spare time, Emma loves spending time with her family and friends, keeping active especially with tennis, pilates and water skiing, and exploring the Great Southern food and wine region!

JACLYN

TREATMENT COORDINATOR

Jaclyn joined the team at Albany Orthodontics in 2018. As our treatment coordinator Jaclyn works closely with Dr Stewart to explain your treatment options, to answer any questions which you may have and to facilitate your treatment. She can also be found at the front desk or assisting in the clinic including clinical photography and digital scanning.

Jaclyn has worn clear aligners in the past so can explain that experience first-hand. She has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of orthodontic treatment.

Outside of work Jaclyn is a regular blood donor and is a volunteer fire brigade member. She is also involved in the 10th Light Horse Albany Troop. Jaclyn graduated from Agricultural College with multiple accolades including the VET Beazley Medal and Agricultural Dux. At home on the farm she has two horses, a sweet chocolate border collie and a cheeky black cat.

KYLIE

ORTHODONTIC THERAPIST

Kylie has been working in orthodontics for over a decade. She loves working in a profession where she gets to see her patients regularly and is able to share in their journey as their smile transforms.

Kylie also has personal experience as an orthodontic patient as she had braces (in the ‘90s) and then recently had her smile ‘tweaked’ with aligners.

She is happy to say that orthodontics dramatically changed her smile and arguably her life. After braces she was known as ‘Smiley’ at high school (admittedly that was probably partly due to it rhyming nicely with ‘Kylie’) and she went on to become a dentist.

“I am proud of our team at Albany Orthodontics and I hope that you enjoy your time at our practice as much as I enjoy working here.”

EMMA

CLINICAL ASSISTANT and TECHNICIAN

Emma completed her Diploma in Dental Technology in 2017, studying at the oral health campus in Perth. She loves working in dentistry; especially in orthodontics.

Emma has had braces herself.  You will find Emma in the clinic assisting the therapists and taking clinical photographs. She also can be found making orthodontic retainers in the laboratory.

While training for a triathlon she found new enjoyment running long distance.

Fun fact about Emma – she spent 6 months working in the Pilbara managing a cattle station. It was one of the best and toughest experiences of her life.

DANICA

CLINICAL ASSISTANT and TREATMENT COORDINATOR

Danica has completed her Cert IV in Dental Assisting and Dental Radiography. Danica loves working in dentistry, especially with the amazing group at Albany Orthodontics.

You will meet Danica in the clinic; taking radiographs, 3D scans, photographs. She is also a member of our treatment coordinator team.

Danica has a background in road and track cycling where she has competed all over Australia in state and national events.

Outside of work Danica enjoys cycling, hiking, and taking her golden retriever puppy for walks. Danica is currently undergoing studies to achieve her Private Pilot’s License and can be found up in the air at sunrise flying over Albany before work.

KELSIE

ORTHODONTIC THERAPIST

Kelsie graduated with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Curtin University in 2010.

Her first role as a dental hygienist was working with specialist oral & maxillofacial surgeon Dr Brent Allan until 2016 when she relocated to the Great Southern to manage a farming property with her husband.

We were fortunate to have Kelsie join the Albany Orthodontics team and her previous experience with orthognathic procedures is of great benefit to our patients.

Kelsie is currently on maternity leave but we looking forward to her re-joining the team whenever she feels ready.

In her spare time Kelsie plays netball for her local team, tennis and enjoys water skiing. Random fact: She won a national medal for javelin in high school!
